Intro: Join us on a rigorous, step-by-step journey to fluency. I’m Timothy and this is LearnCraft Spanish.

Let’s use a big quiz to practice Casar, Amar, Dormir, Ocurrir, our new uses of Ser and Estar, and everything else we’ve learned this week.

In this first one, to say “she has very long hair”, you’ll say tiene el pelo muy largo, literally “she has the hair very long”. Try to predict the whole Spanish sentence.

She has very long hair and very big ears.

Tiene el pelo muy largo y las orejas muy grandes.

He sleeps until late and that’s why that was done before.

Él duerme hasta tarde y por eso eso fue hecho antes.

When are we getting married? If we love each other, we can get married soon.

¿Cuándo nos casamos? Si nos amamos, podemos casarnos pronto.

I’m coming up with an idea to do something together since you slept until eleven.

Se me está ocurriendo una idea para hacer algo juntos ya que dormiste hasta las once.

I loved you and I was very happy at that time.

Te amaba y fui muy feliz en ese momento.

What do you have on your forehead and in your hair?

¿Qué tienes en la frente y en el pelo?

We always sleep until late, but yesterday they slept many hours.

Siempre dormimos hasta tarde, pero ellos ayer durmieron muchas horas.

It occurred to me that you didn’t love me before…

Se me ocurrió que no me amabas antes…

He had a heart attack, but he’s fine now.

Tuvo un ataque al corazón, pero ya está bien.

Why don’t you want me to sleep with my hair like that?

¿Por qué no quieres que duerma con el cabello así?

They are getting married because they have loved each other and still love each other.

Van a casarse porque se han amado y todavía se aman.

I love medicine, I want to do something like this when I’m older.

Amo la medicina, quiero hacer algo así cuando sea mayor.

I’ve slept few hours and my brain is not very well.

He dormido pocas horas y mi cerebro no está muy bien.

When I get married, he’s going to know that I’m always going to love him.

Cuando me case, va a saber que lo voy a amar siempre.

The brain is very important, and the ears also.

El cerebro es muy importante, y los oídos también.

He has a gorgeous voice and they want me to marry him.

Tiene una voz hermosa y quieren que me case con él.

You married the medic right when you were having problems with your leg.

Te casaste con el médico justo cuando tenías problemas con tu pierna.

I have pain in my nose and my ear, and the nurse(m) knows it.

Tengo dolor en la nariz y en la oreja, y el enfermero lo sabe.

The food is very good today, and it’s also good for your health.

La comida está muy buena hoy, y también es buena para tu salud.

You have a great voice and ear.

Tienes una voz y oído geniales.

We slept until ten, but I don’t always sleep for so many hours.

Dormimos hasta las diez, pero no siempre duermo tantas horas.

We want you to sleep because you’re sick.

Because of my illness and my heart attack, I slept a lot.

I know that you love me and that you’ll come up with a good idea.

He was happy for a while, but later he got sick.

She got married yesterday, but the party is today at her house.

When are you getting married? We got married last year.

Don’t sleep! You know the nurse(m) is going to come.

¡No duermas! Sabes que el enfermero va a venir.

He loves me with all his soul, I think I want to get married soon.

Me ama con toda su alma, creo que quiero casarme pronto.

He has problems with his nose and his forehead and that’s why he slept a lot.

Tiene problemas con la nariz y la frente y por eso durmió mucho.

You asked me when I was going to get married. I’m getting married tomorrow.

Me preguntaste cuándo iba a casarme. Me caso mañana.

He hasn’t come up with a good project since they got married two months ago.

No se le ha ocurrido un buen proyecto desde que se casaron hace dos meses.

I want her to sleep many hours because she’s going to get married tomorrow.

Quiero que duerma muchas horas porque va a casarse mañana.

He’s getting married today during the night and that’s why he’s sleeping.

Se casa hoy por la noche y por eso está durmiendo.

The wedding is at that place and that’s why they are very serious.

La boda es en ese lugar y por eso están muy serios.

He’s getting married and he’s not going to be able to sleep much.

Se va a casar y no va a poder dormir mucho.

She loves medicine with all her soul.

Ama la medicina con toda su alma.

We’re getting married and I can’t think of anything better.

Vamos a casarnos y no se me ocurre nada mejor.

He doesn’t have good health and has problems in his arm.

No tiene buena salud y tiene problemas en el brazo.

She has gotten married to the medic and I got married to his friend.

Se ha casado con el médico y yo me casé con su amigo.

You sleep on your left arm and that’s why you have problems.

Duermes sobre tu brazo izquierdo y por eso tienes problemas.

Those books were found by those people.

Esos libros fueron encontrados por esas personas.
