What was your reason for choosing to learn Spanish?

I am a teacher in NYC, so I wanted to learn Spanish so I could communicate with some of my students and parents whose second language was English. In addition, I travel often to Central and South America and wanted to communicate without having a friend or another person translate for me.

How good was your Spanish before you joined Accelerated Spanish coaching?

My Spanish wasn’t great, I wasn’t able to communicate very well with native speakers.

What convinced you to join our coaching program? Were you hesitant to join?

I was looking for a program that understood that everyone learns differently and that some students can learn a language quickly while it takes time for other students. I wanted a program that the coaches were going to be patient and encouraging since I am a student that struggles to learn new languages.

What do you think is unique about working with Accelerated Spanish coaching, versus anything else you’ve done in Spanish?

I think the variety of coaches and activities that they plan for you really helps you focus on one aspect at a time instead of trying to learn everything at once.

What is the most useful thing we’ve been able to do for you in the coaching?

The one on one coaching for me was the most important. It takes me a long time to learn new languages, so the patience and activities that were specifically planned for me were very helpful.

When you compare your Spanish today with how it was a year ago, what is the most notable difference?

The biggest difference is that I am able to communicate much better with native speakers and I am able to watch the news, movies, etc. in Spanish and understand mostly everything.

What will be different in your life now that you’ve taken Accelerated Spanish coaching?

It has already helped me in my life by being able to communicate to other native speakers and when I travel to other Spanish speaking countries, I will feel more confident to have a conversation or order something in Spanish instead of having someone translate for me.

What would you say to another student who isn’t sure whether or not they should join Accelerated Spanish coaching?
